Okay, here’s what happened:
Robby wouldn’t come to live with me out in the country and, legally, I couldn’t let him stay here at the apartment with his girlfriend, though I did for a few days. He wanted me to let him live here by himself permanently. He’s lived here most of his life and [...]

It took a little longer than expected to get back online after moving 35 miles out into the country 11 days ago.
I’m on dial-up, of all things. Holy crap, I’m spoiled. For one thing, I keep forgetting to log off and write email and blog entries offline, so my friends can get through to [...]

Okay, here are some shots of my new place, but be forewarned–it was a cheap camera!

I don’t have anything more to say. Keeping a blog has become the same kind of chore that letter-writing and Christmas card-sending used to be, before I gave up all hope of those completely.
Don’t worry, I’m not depressed. I have other interests now, that’s all. I’m doing my yoga, reading, changing my diet, losing weight, [...]

I wanted to do this a couple of years ago but I couldn’t figure out how to hook the phone up to a microphone and the computer. Without even a few extra dollars to spend on it, and with the added stress of losing my job and filing for disability, it just didn’t seem possible. [...]

I’ve been reading the Tibetan Buddhist Revised Pratimoksha, or rules that guide Tibetan monks. They were revised recently from the Buddha’s classical precepts, to take into account the temptations of our modern world. Believe it or not, there’s some interesting reading–and good advice for all of us. Take this one:
A bhikshu [monk or nun] who [...]

I’m thinking about removing this blog and all its contents. I’ve become uncomfortably aware of the fact that my name is plastered all over it, and that anyone who searches for me will find too much personal stuff for my liking.
I don’t feel comfortable writing the personal stuff here any more because of that. I [...]

2000 down, ‘01, ‘02 and ‘03 to go… [so far, NOT so good on the tax-owing front, though--I'm in the hole about $8k] …
Rhonda’s new roommates just picked up the last of her stuff…

…for me to write something worth reading, you could at least practice your Japanese speed folding skills. I swear, I might even get organized if this keeps up!

My brain is so scrambled, I can’t think of anything to write. I need reformatting.

You are a geek liaison, which means you go both ways. You can hang out with normal people or you can hang out with geeks which means you often have geeks as friends and/or have a job where you have to mediate between geeks and normal people. This is an important role and one of [...]

Robby’s new girlfriend is sleeping five feet from me. He’s gone to school. A week ago, my son was happily dazed in first-love. Now, E. is staying with us for a few days while her parents await a paycheck in their car so they can get another motel room.
I’m happy to be able to help. [...]

…and now it’s over.
Once I had an errand boy, a teenager to go to the store whenever I asked, but no more.
He has a girlfriend.
Sounds like, “We have liftoff,” doesn’t it? Well, it kinda feels like that too. My baby boy, about to turn 16 next week, has his first girlfriend.
We won’t be seeing him [...]
