Blogger’s block

That’s what I’m suffering from–blogger’s block. It helps to put a name to one’s ailments, I think. Doesn’t sound as important as writer’s block but it’s just as aggravating. I don’t know why I can’t think of anything to write about. Life is happening here, just nothing I want to spend time describing.
Okay, I’ll briefly [...]

Priceless

FOR SALE/BARTER: My body in Persistent Vegetative State…

Where I’ve been

I’m not a meme person, mainly because they require too much work, but this one was dead easy:
where you’ve been
bold the states you’ve been to, underline the states you’ve lived in and italicize the state you’re in now…
Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas / California / Colorado / Connecticut / Delaware / Florida / [...]

An explanation

To my surprise, someone has actually noticed the mess that has been this blog for some time now. Here’s what happened:
1. Two or three months ago, comment spammers bombed my site.
2. At the same time, I tried to update MovableType, which somehow disabled MT-Blacklist and things just went downhill from there.
3. As a result [...]

History’s other great relief effort

Thought you might like a little history lesson, courtesy of the BBC:
It does not detract from the relief operation in Asia to question the title almost routinely given to it as the “world’s largest relief operation ever”.
The huge American undertakings that fed millions of people during and after the World War I rescued not sections [...]

Comments welcome [and working again]

Thanks, Mary Beth, for letting me know comments weren’t working. Turned out to be a simple permissions error.

BEYOND THE FIRE

War has killed two million children in the last decade alone. Four million children have become disabled and hundreds of thousands serve as child soldiers. Nearly half of all refugees worldwide are under 18, and across the globe, an estimated 25 million children have been uprooted from their homes as a result of war.
BEYOND THE [...]

dooce: You be well for me

Listen to music a little louder, dance a little crazier, sing out loud in the shower, honk your horn for no reason, give your dog an extra treat, call your mother and tell her you love her, hug your friends even if they aren’t the touchy-feely type, eat french fries once even though your diet [...]

Well, in the dream, anyway. I’m on The Apprentice, see, and Trump is so impressed with my mad single-mom skills that he dumps Melania. He’s tired of perky boobs and cellulite-free thighs. He wants the real thing.
I tell him, “Well okay, but you need to do something about that hair.”
And he does.

Pledge of Action to Stop A Stolen Election

I remember the stolen presidential election of 2000 and I am willing to take action in 2004 if the election is stolen again. I support efforts to protect the right to vote leading up to and on Election Day, November 2nd. If that right is systematically violated, I pledge to join nationwide protests starting on [...]

He’s gone!

Finally. Of course, he asked if he could leave his backpack here for a few hours. I should have said no but that’s ok.
Free at last!

Love

Love: I Corinthians 13:1-13: I Corinthians 13:1-13
1: If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2: And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, [...]

Well, now I feel better.
I’d been thinking that I really should get on the stick and try to drum up some traffic, since I’ve treated this poor blog so badly during the past two years and allowed it to disappear from the blogscape–except for a very few dedicated readers. But I kinda like the [...]

It was good

I found a hat that actually fits my big head–yes, it’s a man hat–and I went to the spa, and I had a very nice time, all without getting a sunburn.
We’re going back next week.
