I went to the farmer’s market and impulsively bought my first herb plants: rosemary, chives, and cilantro. They smell so good!

do you know if you’re supposed to trim cilantro to keep it from flowering/going to seed? mine’s already flowering, so i think it may be too late for me this time, but for future reference?
i have no clue, anna. this is my first herb garden. i looked it up in my garden book, and it just says to clip the leaves when the plant is six inches tall. it does say to clip chives to prevent flowering, so that sounds like clipping doesn’t have that effect on cilantro. also: cilantro is annual; chives, perennial. does that help?
i think i’m going to clip me some chives and cilantro today… thanks for the idea!
hmm. yeah. my plant has definitely passed the 6 inches mark… by about 8 inches! lol. oh well. we’ll see what happens.
