To all three of my friends,

I’ve been having a hard time getting anything done lately because of so many interruptions, so I’ve decided to ask my friends not to call before 5 pm my time, starting tomorrow. I won’t be responding to email until then either.

All of this is because I’m trying to get my plate clear of tasks and promises by Nov. 1. That’s when NaNoWriMo begins–National Novel Writing Month. Each November for the past two years, I have tried [and failed] to write a 50,000 word book in 30 days, and I’m still crazy enough to try it again. Let’s see, that’s 1666 words per day… I can do that in the time I’ve been spending on the phone with you!
