-Author Eudora Welty, dead at 92

Oops - I thought she died 20 years ago. If I’d known she was alive, I would have made a pilgrimage to Mississippi to see her. She was one of the great American writers of the 20th century. I’m always amazed when I run across someone who never heard of her. If you haven’t either, you can learn more here.

Yes, the email program was named for Eudora Welty because of her famous and hilarious story, “Why I Live at the P.O.” You should read it.
